Help For Pastors Regarding Rage Against Christ

Help For Pastors Regarding Rage Against Christ

Candidly, I had no intention of addressing this subject (right now, at least), until I heard some things earlier today; and then I felt compelled, (by the Holy Spirit, I believe), to put something in writing (right away), for my brethren in the church's gospel ministry.

Personally, I do not follow trends, or pay attention to what is coming across social media platforms, etc.  To me, this stuff is just too boring.  But, when I catch wind that certain people are fuming and raging against the reality and truth of the Holy Trinity (for example), or against what is commonly called "Calvinism," (for another example)--I am aware that my ecclesiastical gospel colleagues are probably sensing and experiencing some real Satanic anger; and I would like to try to help you men out.  I myself have been there many times.  (Everyone else is welcome to listen in.)

. . . First of all, do not take any of this personally.  You and I are not the objects of this viral hatred--our Lord Jesus Christ is.  Because we who are truly-called regenerated church ministers most clearly reflect Him to the world, those who are enraged against our true God try to take out their fury on us.  If this happens to you, wear it as a badge of honor.  It is a very real type of persecution; and it can be (and often is) very uncomfortable.

Secondly, try to realize and understand that those sinners who unleash their wrath on the true church and her gospel ministers are desperate.  They know in their heart of hearts that they are under the righteous condemnation of the one true and holy God--and they are not at all happy about this.  Their way of "getting back" at God, is to rage and fume against whatever truth of His it is that especially frustrates them (at the time).  We should sincerely try to have compassion on these people; and we should recognize that we ourselves used to be in their exact position, when we were under God's righteous judgment, (as per Eph. 2:1-3; and Titus 3:3).

Thirdly, under no conditions ever "give in to" those who are red-in-the-face against your Savior; and they want *you* to join them, and agree with them.  To accede to our God's open foes is open rebellion (on our part); and it would be clear evidence that we ourselves are not in Christ.

Fourthly, bring all of this sensed rage and fury that is directed against you (really, Jesus), to your Heavenly Father; and leave it in His hands by faith.  Your enduring these things, and persevering in Christ through them really pleases Him.

Finally, if there is something in our hearts that needs to be repented of--being the object of Satan's people's assaults is certainly a good way to be made aware of this.  Quickly turn to Jesus, repent, and rejoice in your Savior and His forgiveness of you.

Remember, you did not sign on for an easy task.  Your mission is the best, the hardest, and the most rewarding one to be found anywhere.  Stay cemented to the One who said this to us, in Jn. 15:5: "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing," (ESV).
