"Pride Night" Situation

 "Pride Night" Situation

The news, of late, has included the fact that some of the San Francisco Giants pitchers have chosen to write Bible verses (from Genesis 9) on their ballcaps, next to the "pride" colors of the "SF" symbol (on those caps).  Major League Baseball had issued a warning to the players; and a number of people are chiming-in on the subject, with some of them being willing to pay any fines that the players would incur (if they continued to write verses [or anything else] on their caps).

The whole "pride" thing is why I (personally) have lost so much interest in almost all professional sports (and teams).  As well, the NCAA has followed suit--so there is no real "safe haven" for fans like me.  So be it.

But the "pride night" abomination is really a problem for anyone--especially the players--in whom the Holy Spirit dwells.  A maturing and understanding (regenerated) Christian would rather die, than wear any symbols of "pride" whatsoever.  The Christian players on the Giants' team probably found enough relief, in countering Satan's interpretation of the "rainbow," with God's real and actual one.

The people that support "pride"--be they homosexuals, transgenders, or others--need a heavy dose of DEI.  There needs to be a wholesale "diversity," if there is to be a "diversity" at all.  If "equity" is to mean anything, it must be fair with people who do not agree with you.  And "inclusion" is meaningless, if it excludes people whose consciences simply cannot comply with gross iniquity.  The "pride" movement is just plain too narrow-minded/too small-minded.  They need to greatly expand their vision.

I get that the "pride" people think that they are "excluded" by Christians who simply cannot, with good conscience, agree with them.  This is true.  But this does not mean that those Christians do not love them.  Yes, we refuse to "accept" them, as they portray themselves--but this does not mean that we do not actually and sincerely care for them.  (Also, the idea that those who oppose "pride" are keeping anyone from coming to a baseball game, for instance, is really silly.  Anyone is free to come to the games.)

The great irony in this whole situation, is that it is the real Christians, and no one else, who really care about the people caught up in the "pride" and "DEI" snares.  The world, the devil, and the flesh have no concern for their souls, or their wellbeing at all; but true Christians do.  (I think that some people in the "pride" movement actually understand this--though they would never publicly admit it.)

Personally, I simply cannot be associated, at the heart level, with anything that is proudly, pompously, grossly, and arrogantly opposed to my Lord Jesus Christ.  This list is not limited to "pride" perversions.  It extends (especially) to religious abominations that seek to rob our blessed Messiah of His glory.

The "pride" days are on their last legs--as is every other effort to take on the Lord Jesus Christ, His gospel of grace, and His beloved elect/redeemed church.  In just a few days/months/years/decades/centuries it will all be wiped-out in the great Judgment Day, as Jesus separates the lambs from the goats, the wheat from the chaff.  In the meantime, let all Christ's atoned-for saints of His church stay faithful and true to our Redeemer.  To put it in the words of the Book of Revelation, let us be like those, "who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years," (Rev. 20:4b, c/ESV).

    1. Thank-you! There is no need for us believers to get "worked-up" over any of this. As we speak the truth, we may do it with both grace and honesty. The poor people who are caught up in these things should be the sincere objects of our pity and compassion.
